Pirate Ships, Colonies and Astrology

It's been going on for centuries. A time where the sciences and religions are at war between themselves and each other like pirate ships boarded with crews in conflict. A time where the 'rights' and 'wrongs' for everything change constantly, at the drop of the Captain's hat and at each gaining of a new and better treasure map. Where details take over perspective, when the treasure has been found but there is no place or thing to buy with it, and the the need to escape coming from the need to merge is stronger than ever as we forget our origins and drift off into the ocean of unlimited information, facts and figures.

More than ever, the presence of an anchor and a compass has become quite necessary. Whether we choose to stay aboard a ship or take heart and go out in our own rubber duckies and row-boats, these tools of assistance come in handy regardless of what seas and weathers we experience. We don't have to buy them or even steal them, they've been in our pockets the whole time we've been aboard.

When you first started becoming sea-worthy, a snapshot of your capabilities along with the landscape and the details of the surrounding scenery was captured. This is how an astrological chart works as it remains sheltered by the metallic compass everywhere you go.

It shows the BASIS of all your experience, how and what made you learn to swim, how and why you've learnt to paddle, what places and folk you prefer, what battles you've chosen to win and what you choose to lose based on your first reactions and views of the world at sea. This picture comprises your most instinctual memories and you've carried it with you the whole time you've travelled.

The photograph was not taken to tell you your fate or to show you where your final destination lies. It is not there to give you reason to start or stop kicking faster or slower, like it is not there to make you feel like you're a better or worse pirate or Colonel than your friends and enemies. It definitely is not there to make you feel like you're an adept at diving, winning or fighting and most certainly not to make you feel like you're better off someplace else.

The string-lined anchor functions to connect us to the same sea-bed that everyone else floats above, giving us stability wherever we've chosen to go and when we need a break from drifting, as oceanic limitlessness is pure wonder, but losing sight of the ocean floor effects us just like inhaling from deoxygenated scuba tanks.

The compass functions magnetically to our own dense core. It is effected moreso by the electrical impulses within your chest as you duck dive and explore, more than it does by mere impulses shooting up, down and around in your body when you have sight of sharks or even chests of gold. It is there to direct your anchorage, giving you perspective and reminds you of your already natural abilities and guides you to places of interest in turn creating possibilities and experiences that serve you well. Both the compass and the anchor work in sync to remind you of a strong, primal awareness of the connection underlying all things. This connection that you and the shark and the enemies and crew aboard the other ships all possess, the link that brings the ultimate reward, the one that others are searching and fighting so intently for. But the catch lies in the opening of the compass and the use of the anchor. Remembering where you began, learning how to read the workings of your own self and remembering to let go and know you can connect to the solid sea-bed at any time.

Bon Voyage!

  1. Astrologers accept that Moon impacts the body vibrations similarly as it influences the sea waves during the tides. Indeed, even logical examinations have demonstrated that individuals carry on oddly during the full moon evenings since this is one planetary body that is profoundly associated with the human brain.
